Cafe furniture is really important with the ever increasing number of cafes opening in Brisbane. With many café tables you choose your base first and then your table top as generally they’re sold separately, although some do come as a complete package. With so many types of table bases to choose from, it can be a little confusing as to which to choose, so we thought we’d put together a quick guide to help our customers.

Here are some examples of the most common types of table bases:

Aluminium table bases

These are one of our best selling types of table bases since they can be used indoors or outside and are lightweight and easy to move around from one place to another. They’re strong and durable and resistant to inclement weather conditions. Normally sold in silver or black, they can be used to lend a contemporary or bold statement to a table. They’re also very easy to clean and come in a variety of styles including a single column with a pedestal or with two or more legs.

Fixed table bases

If you’re happy with your table layout then you might want to consider fixed table bases. Ours are manufactured from steel which lends a contemporary aesthetic and can be used indoors or out. They bold into the ground using a steel plate which is then covered with a stainless steel cap. The main benefits of this type of base is that it prevents tables from wobbling and also saves space. In addition, mobility chairs and wheel chairs can be positioned close to the table since there are no legs to get in the way.

Cast iron bases

These table bases are generally more intricate in their design and lend a traditional vibe to your bistro or café. They’re usually in black and very heavy to move around.

FLAT technology table bases

These table bases are available in a range of contemporary and traditional designs and incorporate a revolutionary technology which banishes wobbly tables for ever. The technology is hidden away from view inside the framework of the table base but works by levelling the table automatically on whatever surface it is put and then locking it securely into place until such time that the table is moved again. It also makes easy work of lining up several tables to create one large communal dining table.
